Nicole S. is very happy with her first treatment. Dr. Eric Wei Wang was able to reduce her back pain to a very minimal to no pain at all just from one treatment.

We all know when we were kids; we were all afraid of needles. Even as adults, some of us are still afraid of needles and have needle phobia. Well, Eastern Medical Center has options when it comes to needle phobia. Another solution for kids beside Acupuncture and Acupressure is Cupping. Cupping is another way of getting blood to circulate within the body by suction of a muscle into a special cup. A suction can be created within a cup through a pump thats sucks the air out of the cup and forces the muscle within. Another way of creating a suction is by using a flame to quickly heat a cup and when it cools down, creates a vacuum for the muscle to be sucked in. When performing Cupping, our doctors will examine the body through touch and feel for knots, tightness, inflammation, and any other abnormalities to determine exactly where to place the cups. These precise points where the cups are placed will concentrate the flow of blood to that area, replacing deplete blood of their nutrients with fresh blood. Cupping can be use to treat many pain based conditions like back pain, plantar fasciitis, and fibromyalgia. For athletes who aren't hurt, the increase blood flow from cupping can boost athletic recovery by repairing muscle fibers after a tough workout.

Nicole S. likes to spend much time with her boyfriend and friends socializing and traveling since she began driving, but lately, Nicole has been having lower back pains that has prevented her from doing so. Nicole came to Eastern Medical Center when she heard about how friendly we are with kids to treat her back problem. Dr. Eric Wei Wang took his time to really understand Nicole and her lower back pain and made sure she was comfortable with proceeding with the treatment. Dr. Eric Wei Wang was able to guide Nicole through the treatment while being gentle and creating a comfortable environment for Nicole to be in. The suction from the cupping was able to increase blood flow in the lower back that helped release some tight muscles that Nicole had.

Asking the right questions to diagnosis pain and health

Estrella M. is hard at her studies. She spends much of her time behind a book or at her desk on a computer. Building her future isn't easy and finding time to exercise is scarce. The amount of time Estrella spends at a computer without getting up to stretch has put much strain in her neck, shoulders, and back causing her to feel really sore when she wakes up in the morning. Estrella does not know this, but Dr. Eric Wei Wang was able to find that out by asking the right questions.

Estrella doesn't know why her back is hurting, but Dr. Eric Wei Wang can find out why.

Although Dr. Eric Wei Wang asked the right question to find out exactly why Estrella was feeling pain in her neck, shoulders, and back; he will also verify through Acupressure, feel, and touch of the muscles. Dr. Eric Wei Wang knows that in order to heal someone else's body; he would have to understand their body first.

Acupressure and Massage to feel and understand muscle issues

Relieving Neck Pain, Shoulder Pain, Back Pain, and a Pinch nerve with Cupping

Dr. Eric Wei Wang was able to help Estrella with her pain and soreness through some deep tissue massages and cupping. From cupping, Estrella's body was able to redirect fresh blood to her neck, shoulders, and back which will repair damage muscles fibers from staring at a book or her computer for too long. The cupping was also able to relieve some muscle tension and a pinch nerve that Estrella develop from sitting at a desk for too long.

Teresa Shen showing how neck pain developed

Evan is a 13 year old who wants to become a computer programmer. At a young age and even presently, he spends much time at a computer learning new codes and algorithms for computer programming. However, spending that much time staring at a computer hunch over has put some strain on his posture and has caused pain in his neck. Evan is a very smart young boy and Teresa Shen is able to educate him with what is going on in his body for him to feel such pain.

Shen is demonstrating what happens when you sit at a computer for too long to get Evan to understand what is happening.

Even after Teresa Shen has created a comfortable environment for Evan and gained his trust, Evan still has a phobia of Acupuncture needle and would prefer not to do Acupuncture. Shen understands and would never want to do anything that Evan is uncomfortable with and decided to go for cupping instead.

Cupping is another alternative from Acupuncture

Evan is not comfortable with Acupuncture so Shen and Evan agreed on cupping instead

No more Neck Pain with Cupping

After his Cupping treatment, Evan was pain free and he was able to stand up straighter and taller. Shen was able to offer Evan some advice on pain management and some stretching techniques that will prevent this from happening again. Shen also made him aware of his posture while he was sitting and having a straight posture while sitting at a computer can prevent injuries from happening again.

Evan is very happy with his treatment and no longer feels neck pain
